Throughout the season, our hero will face small slice-of-life issues and many a villain of the week, most of whom he will banish, befriend, or beat into submission and a ceasefire. The friends he will make include:
A socially inept and greedy adolescent whose power is collecting and sending things, notable for testing whether something can explode twice...
A shy individual who slowly develops into a braver, more powerful person throughout the series...
A simple and stubborn bruiser that looks after an ailing elder, has deceased family members, an eye for savings, and is more powerful than a lot of people give him credit for...
A super-fast punk with a need for speed...
A beauty expert who wants to live a fairy tale life...
A quirky chef with dramatic but harmless psychotic breaks...
And an eccentric jerk with godlike power.The only character that doesn't really fit in the otherwise MLP-esque part is the main villain, Yoshikage Kira.
I mean, the guy is a serial killer with a hand fetish and the ability to blow things up. He's too dark and threatening for a slice-of-life villain, but not powerful or motivated enough to be a adventure villain. What would be his counterpart anyway?

What does your username mean?
The idea came from back when I was a fresh member. I tried ponifying a bunch of Doctor Who monsters because I was on an MLP high: Cybermares, Sontallions, and Dalekolts, and so on.
The last one evolved into an unwritten fanfic about Dalek Kolt, fifth member of the Cult of Skaro who tumbled into Equestria in the Void Ship's wake. At first it simply hides out and makes repairs, but ultimately Equestria's conditioning plus its goal of unorthodox thinking redeem it. I liked the idea so much that I made a username based on it.

Am I implying that the evilest of creatures in the Ponyverse is...MAN?
That's right, the Pony Conversion bureau fanfics were correct. Ponies are superior to us in every conceivable way.
Proof:
In the Ponyverse, the Element of Magic cannot work without the other Elements because it is based on dependence on friends. In the human world, it not only works regardless of any other Elements (proof that humans are selfish beings who only depend on themselves) but turns lone human wielders into demonic monsters. It's implied this is so not because Sunset is a powerful unicorn in her homeworld, but because the human world has corrupted the element.
When the Elements DO work properly, they cannot process that humans could POSSIBLY use it for harmonious purposes. So they partially convert the wielder into a pony so that "True" harmony can be restored.
Final proof can be seen when the Human Six have NO PROBLEMS WHATSOEVER with being turned into anthropomorphic pony abominations, complete with horse ears, and when Pinkie tries escaping the hell that is the human world with Twilight.
Basically, Lyra is the Ponyverse equivalent of a Satan worshiper.
And personally, I'm offended by this treatment and image of humans.
"Where did you find this object?" Princess Celestia asked the pegasus guard.
"Crater in the Everfree Forest. Some locals sent letters in about what looked like a meteor falling from the sky, only it was screaming as it fell."
Princess Celestia eyed the strange thing in the magic cage. it was alien and metallic, with odd-looking tools and lights and spheres sticking out of it. It's base resembled a cattleguard on the Pony Express. It was topped with a dome. Perhaps it is a weapon, Celestia mused. I shall need to get Luna to investigate this with me further.
"Any trouble receiving it?" Celestia asked.
"Of a sort. It didn't blow up or attack us when we reached the crater, but there was an...offensive force field around it."
"How offensive?"
"Speedy needed to be hospitalized. Second degree burns all over his body. We then tried lifting it with magic, but that thing was too heavy. Felt like it weighed a ton. So we put it on the carriage we arrived in and had the pegasi fly back."
Celestia's eyes narrowed. "How odd."
"What is it?"
Celestia turned and faced the guard. "Don't you find it strange that thing's force field attacked a guard, yet left the carriage intact? Philomena knows flesh is less combustible than wood."
The guard's heart jumped. "Are you saying that thing's field deliberately attacks ponies? Who would make a thing like that?"
"...WILL RELEASE ME..."
Both ponies eyes turned to the cage, shock visible on their faces.
"...YOU...RELEASE ME..."
"That thing's...ALIVE!?" the guard gasped in horror.
"...YOU WILL...ME..."
Lights on the top of the dome were flashing to the screeching speech emanating from the creature. A camera-like extension attached to the dome raised itself up and blazed a bright, cold blue.
"YOU WILL RELEASE..."
Princess Celestia regained her composure. "Get out of here." she ordered the guard.
"But Princess-"
"NOW!"
Celestia stood alone with the awakened creature.
"YOU WILL RELEASE ME! YOU WILL RELEASE ME! YOU WILL RELEASE ME!!!"
"Well," Celestia said, trying to reassure herself. "At least an interesting friendship letter should come out of this."
